Sunset Barn

Hello people!

I often spend time flicking through flickr, checking out some of the amazing photos that have been uploaded and for some reason I always seem to stumble upon shots of old agricultural barns.

I’m not quite sure what it is about barns that makes them such good shooting material but they do seem to get about. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that they don’t move very fast, enabling capture with slow shutter speeds…but after seeing so many shots of barns I thought I would add one to the pile.

Although the shot below looks like it was taken on a sunny evening, earlier that night it had been raining pretty hard so I was wearing my Berghaus jacket. When the sun came out it started to warm up so I ditched the jacket on the ground, out of shot behind the barn.

A few weeks later I was looking for my jacket and it dawned on me that I had left it on location. After returning to the spot I was fortunate enough to find my coat where I had left it. Unfortunately the sheep had been replaced with cows and they had been using the jacket as a welcome mat. Testament to Berghaus,  after a quick rinse under the shower and a shake the coat is as good as new, aside from a few gnaw marks!

  1. Beautiful Image!

  2. I love the contrast between the very green grass and the orange sky.
